The York Fresh Food Farms team is a combination of year-round and part-time seasonal employees, working in the fields and high tunnels, at our mobile produce markets, or both. Our team members are committed and passionate about York Fresh Food Farms’ mission to:

  • provide high quality produce to low-income and food insecure families,
  • address food access inequities,
  • spread the word about nutritious, good tasting vegetables and eating healthy, and
  • increase consumption of fruits and vegetables in the City of York, PA for a healthier community.

Current Openings


Market Coordinator

30 hrs/week

 

Must be energetic, outgoing, reliable, and have excellent interpersonal skills.  Experience with or interest in farm production, produce preparation and sales, and/or customer service experience preferred.   This is a year-round position.


Farm Hand

20-35 hrs/week

Must have reliable transportation and be able to perform farm labor in all climate conditions.  This is a year-round position.


Mobile Produce Market Assistant

20-35 hrs/week

Must possess valid PA driver's license and be able to drive our market vehicles (small shuttle bus, Econoline van).  Retail sales/customer service preferred.  June-October.

Volunteer

At York Fresh Food Farms we work hard, support each other and have fun! We offer on the job training and flexible daytime and weekend schedules.  Our employees and volunteers choose where their interests and talents can best serve the Farm and our community:

  • Farm hand: Assist the Farmer with open field and high tunnel (unheated greenhouse) planting, cultivation and harvesting
  • Mobile Market worker:
    • Prepare vegetables and fruits for market—clean, trim, package
    • Run or assist at local market stops—set-up market table; connect with people and help them in selecting and using produce; process sales
    • Help out at community events to raise awareness about the variety, flavor and health benefits of fresh produce
