Roasted Cabbage Steaks

Main Ingredients: 

  • 1 head cabbage, red or green
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped thyme (or basil or oregano)
  • Nonstick spray
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Recipe Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter on low heat. Add the thyme and garlic, simmer for 1 minute, then remove from the heat.
  3. Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Cut cabbage into 1/2 inch steaks, place on sheet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour some of the butter mixture over the steaks to coat them and repeat every 10 minutes, roasting for 40 minutes or until tender.
  5. Top with the shredded parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
